Project Reverie — Content & IP Policy
Last updated: 22 April 2026 Effective: 22 April 2026
1. Purpose
This Content & IP Policy explains:
- Who owns what on Project Reverie ("Service");
- What you can and cannot do with Outputs commercially;
- How we handle copyright, trademark, and rights-holder complaints;
- Restrictions passed through from our upstream AI Model providers.
It forms part of our Terms of Service and should be read together with our Acceptable Use Policy.
2. Definitions
- Inputs: prompts, reference images, audio, video, and any other content you submit to the Service.
- Outputs: files the Service generates from your Inputs (images, videos, audio).
- Models: the third-party generative AI models used to produce Outputs (currently from ByteDance/BytePlus — Seedance, Seedream, and related families).
- Service Content: everything on the platform that isn't your Input or Output — interface, presets, prompt libraries, documentation, and code.
3. Your Inputs
3.1 Ownership
You keep ownership of your Inputs. We claim no rights over them.
3.2 Rights you must have
By submitting an Input, you represent and warrant that:
(a) you own the Input, or have a licence or legal right to submit it (including from rights-holders, subjects in images, and any other parties with rights in the content);
(b) the Input does not infringe any third-party copyright, trademark, trade secret, publicity, privacy, or other right;
(c) where the Input contains images, voice, or likeness of real identifiable persons (other than yourself), you have their documented consent to use the content for the purpose of your generation.
3.3 Licence to us
You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, process, transmit, and display your Inputs solely for:
(a) operating the Service and producing Outputs for you;
(b) transmitting to upstream Model providers to generate Outputs;
(c) content moderation and safety checks;
(d) diagnosing technical issues;
(e) complying with law.
We do not use your Inputs to train our own models. Whether upstream Model providers use Inputs to improve their Models is governed by their respective policies — please review them. We will pass through reasonable controls (such as opt-outs) where providers make them available to us.
3.4 What we delete
When you delete an Input, we delete it from our production systems. Backups are rotated on a regular schedule (see the Privacy Policy). We may retain Inputs longer where necessary for legal defence, abuse investigation, or compliance.
4. Outputs
4.1 Your rights in Outputs
Subject to your payment of all fees due and your compliance with the Terms of Service, Acceptable Use Policy, and this Policy, we assign to you any rights we hold in the Outputs you generate, to the fullest extent such rights are transferable.
This means:
- You may download, modify, and use Outputs for personal and commercial purposes;
- Paid accounts receive Outputs without the Project Reverie watermark;
- Free or trial accounts may receive Outputs with a Project Reverie watermark or resolution limitation.
4.2 Important limits you must understand
(a) Legal uncertainty. The ownership and copyright status of AI-generated content is unsettled in Malaysia and most jurisdictions. You may not be able to claim exclusive copyright over Outputs, which means other people can independently create similar works without infringing yours.
(b) Non-exclusivity. Other users, running similar prompts, may produce substantially similar Outputs. Your Outputs are not unique to you, and we grant no exclusivity.
(c) No originality warranty. Outputs may unintentionally resemble existing copyrighted works, trademarked designs, real persons, or real places. You are responsible for checking Outputs before any public or commercial use. We provide no clearance service.
(d) Upstream restrictions. Model providers impose use restrictions on Outputs generated by their Models. Where we are aware of those restrictions, we pass them through to you in Section 7 below.
4.3 How you may use Outputs
You may:
- Post Outputs on social media and websites;
- Use Outputs in advertisements, marketing, and client work (paid tiers);
- Modify, composite, and edit Outputs;
- License Outputs to others (subject to the limits in this Policy).
4.4 How you may NOT use Outputs
You must not:
- Claim that Outputs were created by a human artist when they were AI-generated, where this misrepresentation causes legal or commercial harm;
- Submit Outputs to competitions, marketplaces, or platforms that prohibit AI-generated content;
- Use Outputs in ways that violate the Acceptable Use Policy;
- Use Outputs to train competing generative AI models;
- Claim ownership or copyright registration of Outputs in jurisdictions where doing so would involve a false statement about human authorship.
5. Service Content
The Service — including our interface, presets, prompt templates, workflow structures, brand elements, tutorials, and code — is owned by Project Reverie or licensed to us. You may use it only as the Service normally permits. You may not copy, republish, or resell any Service Content.
6. Reference image uploads
When you upload reference images of real people, this Policy and the Acceptable Use Policy place strict requirements on you:
(a) You: you may upload your own likeness freely.
(b) Others with consent: you may upload images of other real people only if you have documented consent from them (or their legal guardian where applicable) for the specific type of generation you intend.
(c) Public figures: allowed only in non-deceptive contexts (satire, commentary, editorial). Not for endorsement, fake quotes, fake acts, or any context that could reasonably be mistaken for real footage or real endorsement.
(d) Minors: we do not permit photorealistic generations of identifiable minors other than your own child, and only then for personal, non-public use. Any sexual or suggestive context is strictly prohibited regardless of source (see Acceptable Use Policy).
We may refuse, block, or delete any generation involving a real person's likeness at our discretion.
7. Upstream provider restrictions
Our Service relies on Models operated by third parties, currently ByteDance / BytePlus. Those providers impose their own content and use restrictions, which flow through to you. The following restrictions are known to apply (list is not exhaustive, and may change):
- No content violating applicable law;
- No CSAM or content sexualising minors;
- No generation of specific named public figures in contexts that could deceive;
- No generation of content that infringes third-party intellectual property;
- No use of Outputs to train competing AI systems;
- No attempts to reverse-engineer, extract, or replicate the underlying Model.
If an upstream provider notifies us that your Outputs or use pattern violates their policies, we will comply with their reasonable instructions, which may include removing Outputs, suspending access to specific Models, or terminating your account.
We will publish significant upstream restriction changes at /terms/acceptable-use-policy as they become known to us.
8. Copyright, trademark, and rights-holder complaints
8.1 How to report
If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright, trademark, or other rights, send a written notice to [email protected] with:
(a) your contact details (name, address, email, phone);
(b) identification of the work or right you claim has been infringed;
(c) identification of the allegedly infringing content on the Service, with sufficient detail for us to locate it (URL, username, description, timestamp);
(d) a statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is unauthorised;
(e) a statement, under penalty of perjury or an equivalent declaration under Malaysian law, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the rights-holder or authorised to act on their behalf;
(f) your physical or electronic signature.
8.2 What we do with notices
We review valid notices promptly and may:
- Remove or disable access to the allegedly infringing content;
- Notify the user who generated or uploaded it;
- Forward the notice to the user, unless doing so would be inappropriate.
8.3 Counter-notices
If you believe content you generated or uploaded was wrongly taken down, you may submit a counter-notice to [email protected] with your contact details, identification of the removed content, a statement under penalty of perjury that the removal was a mistake or misidentification, and your consent to the jurisdiction of Malaysian courts.
We may restore the content after receiving a valid counter-notice, subject to applicable law.
8.4 Repeat infringers
We terminate accounts of users we determine, in our reasonable discretion, to be repeat infringers.
8.5 False notices
Submitting a knowingly false or bad-faith notice may result in liability for damages, including costs and legal fees. Do not use this process to harass users or suppress lawful content.
9. Trademarks
"Project Reverie", the Project Reverie logo, and related marks are trademarks of OM Connect Sdn Bhd. You may not use them without our written permission, except for fair or nominative use (e.g., factually describing that your content was made on Project Reverie).
All other marks appearing on the Service are the property of their respective owners.
10. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified at least 14 days in advance, where possible. Some upstream restrictions may require immediate changes, which we will publish promptly.
